WHAT IF CHURCHES UNITED TO DISRUPT POVERTY, ADDICTIONS IN INDY?
Metro Baptist Center and Restore Church Network have a combined 45 years experience ministering to those in poverty and addictions. We believe, if more churches will join us, the Holy Spirit will use us majorly to disrupt the evil one's use of those afflictions, free people from them, and many of them will be saved. The situation, vision, strategy and ways to join the disruption are below.

SITUATION

There's an underside of Indianapolis - poverty and addictions - that is largely ignored by Bible-believing churches who could provide Jesus-centered solutions that would disrupt the afflictions in a major way if churches would unite to proclaim the gospel to every impoverished and addicted person in our city.​​
VISION
-
Metro Baptist Center and Restore Church Network are recruiting churches to form an alliance for the disruption of poverty and addictions. The alliance will build a Bible-believing Christian resource center and network of empowerment. Churches will pool resources and develop outreach ministries in areas of Indianapolis where poverty and addictions are the most prevalent. Alliance churches' congregations will also have access to developed resources and ministries.
STRATEGY

Develop a Christian resource center and network of empowerment that includes access ministries, such as the Baptist Center's food and clothing pantries and Restore Church's residential facility for men desiring to exit addictions, to gather lost people.

Plant microchurches at the access ministries locations for gospel proclamation and relationships development for discipleship-to-conversion opportunities.

For transformation, address five areas of a person's life (spiritual, physical, emotional, academic and financial) by creating employment, housing, medical and educational opportunites.

CAN BE DISRUPTIVE
ALLIANCE
The alliance is an informal grouping of churches who want to be used by the Holy Spirit to disrupt poverty and addictions in Indianapolis by presenting the gospel and coming alongside people on the margins who want a better life with Jesus.

Have your church join the alliance, working and praying with other alliance churches, and pooling resources to make a difference. As an alliance member help develop strategies, start access ministries and plant microchurches.
ACCESS MINISTRIES
Access ministries are crucial to our strategy to reach lost people. The ministries are where people struggling with life issues can come, hear the gospel, and receive spiritual, physical, emotional, academic and financial support.

Depending on an individual's spiritual gifts, volunteer to teach, counsel or serve at existing Restore Church Network access ministries - The Hub for men coming out of addiction and the food and clothing pantries at Metro Baptist Center in downtown Indianapolis.​

For entrepreneurs, help launch new access ministries. In the near term, we are praying to be able to provide housing and jobs for the people we serve.
MICROCHURCHES
Microchurches are purposely designed to be small to enhance relationship development and Biblical fellowship. RCN has 10 microchurches and desires to plant many more.

Assist existing recovery microchurches and help plant new ones by being a part of core teams, providing teachers, volunteers and hospitality assistance.​​
PANTRIES
Our food and clothing pantries are housed at the Metro Baptist Center in downtown Indianapolis. In 2026, we had approximately 6,000 interactions with those in poverty and in addiction.

Be a pantry volunteer. Provide food and clothing for the pantries.
REMODELING
Our two access ministries - Metro Baptist Center and The Hub - are housed in old buildings that are in need of a tremendous amount of repair.

Help remodel our buildings, including restrooms, shower rooms, common areas, conference rooms and common areas. If you know how to use a paint brush to how to fix our electrical issues, we can use your help.
special events
At Metro Baptist Center we conduct a monthly children's program and an annual Christmas meal for those who attend our recovery microchurches and selected downtown apartment buildings.

For Christmas, volunteer for food organization and distribution, and provide financial assistance for food acquisition.

For children, help prepare food and help teach.​
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The people we serve and who attend our microchurches will never be able to significantly fund our churches and access ministries through offerings. We are grateful for churches and individuals who help support us.
